Hill site for paragliders and hanggliders
The launch site is located in a forest aisle on the northern slope between Veldenz and Burgen. It is narrow and surrounded by tall trees. If the wind direction is not optimal, very strong turbulences occur at the start, as well as after the start when leaving the aisle. The upper launch area is reserved for hang gliders. It is absolutely necessary to arrange the launch sequence, since from the upper launch the launch site below is overflown at a very low altitude. The landing area is large and free of obstacles. However, the hill in front of it creates dangerous turbulence in north winds. Important: Maximum takeoff elevation 800 meters. Directly above the site is the airspace D of Hahn Airport (map).
