The Schmittenhöhe provides access to the famous Pinzgau promenade and is therefore a popular mountain for long-distance flights. Especially in May, June and July there is a lot of activity; strong thermals. The panorama on the main ridge of the Alps with a view on the Kitzsteinhorn is unique. The ascent to the Schmittenhöhe is done by cable car (http://www.schmitten.at/de/sommer/paragleiten/). There are various take-off points to the SW, S, SW and NW. The landing area is in Fürth, not far from the train station. From here it is possible to reach the lower station by public transport. Important: The "Zell am See" airfield is not far from the landing area. The prescribed heights must be observed. Therefore, it is essential to reduce the altitude to the north of the slope and to reach the landing area at the earliest at 100 m above ground level. Pay the take-off and landing fees at the cable car.
